Throwers Headline Day One Of Dick Taylor Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina Track and Field found success on the first day of the Dick Taylor Challenge. The all-time weight throw record list gained two new entries.
All UNC throwers advanced to the finals in the men's and women's weight throw. Every women's weight thrower set a new PR.
Kosi Umerah (20.12m) made her Carolina debut in a big way as she moved into fourth all-time in the weight throw with a PR to post Carolina's first win of the meet. McKynzie Mauney (16.91m) finished in fourth with her PR. Gracie Bolick (16.04m) also picked up a PR to start her season.
Brayden Radhuberen (18.77m) kicked off his junior season with back-to-back PRs as he launched a massive PR of 1.47m to claim the silver medal and the 9th all-time mark in program history.
Sophomore Myles Scott (16.88m) made his indoor debut, with his best throw coming in his final attempt. In his Tar Heel debut, grad transfer Matthew Appel (18.26m) finished third. Ty Castro (15.99 m) finished eighth. Sam Romerhaus (15.89m) made his indoor debut, finishing ninth.
