The men's team finished second with 82 points, and the women's team finished eighth with 48, which was an improvement from last year's 13th place with a score of 19 points.
The men's team title came down to the final two events of the evening, the 5k and the 4x400m relay. Wolfe ran the ACC and meet record in the 5k in 13:13.49. The senior came out and jumped into the lead pack, going head-to-head with Wake Forest's Rocky Hansen, who pushed Wolfe into battle early. Rocky and Wolfe had a sizable lead heading into the 3000m mark, as Hanson dropped out, giving Wolfe the lead position as he coasted to a 23-second victory. Ethan Strand, (13:37.35) who was fresh off defending his 1500m title, ran right behind his teammate and brought Carolina a combined 18 points. The top two finishes by the Tar Heels put them in position to potentially win the title with the men's 4x400m relay race.
Killian Fahy led off the relay, but he pulled up with an injury early on. He fought through the injury to finish his leg of the lap, allowing Carolina to finish the race and take 12th out of 13 teams.
Strand became the first Tar Heel to ever three-peat in the men's 1500m. Strand stayed in the pack for the first 1400m of the race. As he rounded the corner into the final 100m, he moved up from the fourth position into first and hit another gear, coasting into the championship. He had the fastest split in the final 400m of the race, clocking in a quick 51.67.
