Hille, Vician Pace Men’s Soccer Over William & Mary, 5-2

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Two goals each from Luke Hille and Martin Vician helped No. 7 North Carolina (8-1-4, 3-1-1 ACC) over William & Mary (4-8-0, 2-4-0 CAA), 5-2, Tuesday evening in the Tar Heels' non-conference finale.
How It Happened
• After a pass into the box bounced around, Luke Hille started the scoring in the fifth minute.
• William & Mary's nearly scored in the 16th minute, as Tre Barrett's shot deflected off the post.
• In the 24th, Hille's shot attempt slipped through the Tribe goalkeeper's hands, giving the Tar Heels a 2-0 edge.
• Just minutes later, Barrett dished to Augie Cooper, trimming the Carolina lead to one-goal, 2-1.
• Gabe Ruitenberg's attempt in the 30th frame was halted by Andrew Cordes.
• Before the half, Bertil Hansen fed Sam Williams, sending a shot just past the William & Mary reach, giving Carolina a 3-1 lead.
• Opening the second half, Andrew Czech's shot attempt was saved, as Martin Vician's rebound score extended the Tar Heel advantage to 4-1.
• In the 61st, Czech dished to Vician, finding the left side of the goal.
• A shot attempt by Carolina in the 68th and an attempt by William & Mary in the 69th were saved.
• The Tribe's Ruitenberg sent a shot just inside the right post in the 72nd minute, cutting into the Tar Heel lead, 5-2.
