Men's Lacrosse Preps For Two Weekend Matchups

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 14-ranked North Carolina men's lacrosse team (4-2, 1-0 ACC) gears up for two matchups this weekend, traveling to No. 4 Duke (6-1, 1-0) Friday night, returning for a home non-conference matchup with Dartmouth (4-0) on Sunday.

Tyeryar Garners National Honors
• Face-off midfielder Andrew Tyeryar was named to the USILA Team of the Week, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
• The Falls Church, Va. product scored three goals, collected five groundballs and went 12- 22 at the face-off X this past weekend, helping the Tar Heels to a 19-6 victory over Brown.
• The three goals was the first multi-goal effort of Tyeryar's career. In addition, Tyeryar won the face-off battle for the fifth time the season.
Offensive Transfers' Immediate Impact
• Attackman Logan McGovern has made a huge imprint thus far, in his first five games as a Tar Heel.
• The Bryant transfer leads the Heels offensively with 24 points (14 G, 10 A), including an eight-point outburst two weeks ago at Syracuse.
• Fellow transfer Sean Goldsmith (Mercer), joins McGovern as the lone Tar Heels to find the back of the net in the first six games.
• Goldsmith ranks third on UNC with 17 points (12 G, 5 A) to start the year.
Breschi Approaching 150 Wins at UNC
• Entering Sunday, Tar Heel head coach Joe Breschi sits at 149 wins during his 15 seasons at UNC, the most wins in program history.
• In the history of North Carolina Athletics, 22 head coaches have accomplished 150 wins during their time in Chapel Hill.
