• Tyler's a defensive middie who is going to be a huge contributor for us.
• We'll probably play four to six defensive middies this year, as opposed to two last year, so we're going to add some depth there and Tyler's going to be one of those guys.
• Has great speed and plays hard consistently.
• Possesses a knack for defense, ground balls and loose balls.
General: Two-time returning letter winner as a short stick defensive midfielder...agile 6-2, 185-pound athlete...red-shirted during 2011 season because of a concussion...was cleared by medical personnel August 2011 to return for fall ball.
2011 (Junior): Named to ACC Academic Honor Roll.
2010 (Sophomore): Selected for All-ACC Academic Men's Lacrosse Team...played in 14 games for the Tar Heels...scored the first two goals of his career in win over Lehigh...had 31 ground balls and eight caused turnovers...had a season-high five ground balls versus Dartmouth...had four in win over Navy and three against Duke and Maryland...has season highs for caused turnovers with two each against Bryant and Delaware.
2009 (Freshman): Played in 17 games as a freshman, doing an outstanding job as a short stick defensive midfielder...did a great job on ground balls with 29 and also had three caused turnovers...had a season high five ground balls against Denver...also had three ground balls against Providence, Johns Hopkins, Hofstra and UMBC...had two caused turnovers in the win over Denver...named to the 2008-09 ACC Academic Honor Roll...named to All-ACC Academic Team in men's lacrosse.
Community Service & Leadership: A Rising Star in the Carolina Leadership Academy...member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars...a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, UNC Children's Hospital and Carolina Dreams program...a volunteer coach at Kent Denver...member of model United Nations club in high school.
Prep: Graduated from the Kent Denver School in Englewood, Colo. ...coached in lacrosse there by Tom Graessner...date of graduation was June 4, 2007...played lacrosse, ice hockey and soccer there all four years...was member of lacrosse teams which won the state title in 2004 and earned runner-up finishes three other times...an All-America on the lacrosse field...three-time all-state selection...team captain and squad MVP in 2007...played in US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase...a Top 205 All-Star Team selection...Colorado player of the year in 2007...in ice hockey, he was named All-State two times and was the team captain in 2007...on the pitch, he was All-State one time and the team captain as a senior...second-team all-academic in ice hockey...played for the Go Fast Team in the Vail Elite Tournament in 2007...played for Team Reebok in 2008 in Vail Elite Tournament...also played for club all stars in Vail Shootout.

1. The best thing about being a Tar Heel lacrosse player is representing a great university that I am proud to play for.
2. My favorite thing about competing for Coach Breschi is the excitement on game days.
3. Since last year the aspect of my training I've worked on the most is my strength.
4. My best friend on another college lacrosse team is Patrick Murray (Georgetown).
5. My greatest strength as a lacrosse player is ground balls.

1. Away from the lacrosse field and academic pursuits I like to spend time skiing, fishing and playing hockey.
2. The best movie I've seen recently is Fool's Gold.
3. If I could compete in another sport at UNC it would be basketball.
4. The music act I'd most like to see in person is Zac Brown Band.
5. The personal interest I have that might surprise my teammates is I like pinball

1. After a game at Fetzer Field, I'd like to see a tailgate spread that included [B]ski's, Wendy's #6 biggie sized, steaks and Sutton's milkshakes.
2. My favorite beverage is Gatorade.

4. My favorite place to eat in Chapel Hill is Bin 54.
5. My favorite guilty pleasure food wise is pizza.
