2022-23: Averaged 72.08 in 37 rounds over 12 tournaments • Helped UNC win five team titles, finish first in stroke play at the NCAA Championship and advance to the semifinals in match play • One of four players in the 156-player NCAA Championship field to lead in par-5 scoring average (5 under total for an average of 4.38) and was one of 22 players to play the par 3s in par or better (he shot even) • Stormed back from two holes down with five to play to take the lead against first-team All-America Preston Summerhays in the anchor match in the quarterfinal win over Arizona State • Won the 14th, 16th and 17th holes (drove the 17th green and made eagle for the second day in a row) to go 1 up (match was unfinished when UNC clinched with Fountain and Summerhays in the 18th fairway) • Shot a season-best 3-under 67 in the third round of the NCAA Championship • Shot par or better in 14 rounds • Posted two of his four rounds in the 60s in the Jackson T. 2021-22: Averaged 72.32 per round with 19 of 37 rounds at or below par and seven rounds in the 60s • Season-low round of 67 in the second of three rounds in the 60s (68-67-68) in the ACC Championship • Tied for first in stroke play at the ACC Championship with Clemson’s Jacob Bridgeman at 13-under 203 • The 13 under par was the lowest ever in ACC Championship play by a Tar Heel • Bridgeman won the title on the second playoff hole • Had two other top 10 finishes, T-6 at the Williams Cup (2-under 214), T-8 at Duke (4-under 212), and was T-12 at the Blessings (2-under 214).
