Three Heels Advance At ITA All-Americans

CARY, N.C. – Carolina women's tennis continued tournament play in the pre-qualifying draw of the ITA All-American Championships on Sunday. Three Tar Heels picked up wins in singles to advance to the qualifying bracket. Sunday's winners included Anna Frey, Theadora Rabman, and Maddy Zampardo.
Anna Frey got the day started with another dominant, straight-set win. She later earned another win to secure her spot in the upcoming qualifying draw. Theadora Rabman and Maddy Zampardo continued their strong start at All-Americans by posting two wins each as they advanced to the qualifying round as well.
In the consolation bracket, Ishika Ashar recorded a gritty win over her opponent from Quinnipiac.
UNC will compete in the qualifying round of singles and doubles starting at 9 a.m. Monday morning in Cary.

ITA All-American Championships
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association will hold their 43rd annual All-American Championship this coming week. The tournament continues to highlight the nation's top tennis players while providing the athletes an opportunity to clinch a spot at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (eight main draw quarterfinalists & two feed-in consolation finalists). Meanwhile, five doubles teams (5) will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships (four main draw semifinalists, consolation champion).
