Women’s Soccer To Host Exhibition Against South Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 8 Carolina women's soccer will take the pitch at Dorrance Field for the first time this season Wednesday evening. The Tar Heels are set to host South Carolina in an exhibition starting at 6 p.m.
The midweek match is Carolina's only exhibition before regular season play begins. The Tar Heels last welcomed the Gamecocks to Chapel Hill in 2021 during the first round of the NCAA Tournament where South Carolina came out on top, 1-0.
Although it's an exhibition, the game against South Carolina will bring an early test for UNC as they head into a competitive regular season schedule. Carolina ranked eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll while the Gamecocks were receiving votes. The Tar Heels will face nine top-25 opponents across nonconference and ACC action this season.
