Bertagnole (Freshman Of The Year) & Sheils Donegan Named All-ACC

Tar Heels Niall Sheils Donegan and Carson Bertagnole were named to the 2026 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Golf Team and Bertagnole was named the ACC Freshman of the Year.
Earlier this week, Sheils Donegan was named second-team All-America by PING (Golf Coaches Association of America) and Golfweek, while both named Bertagnole a third-team All-America.
Sheils Donegan and Bertagnole are the 10th and 11th individuals to earn All-ACC under Andrew DiBitetto, in his ninth season as Carolina's Johnny and Tricia Thompson Men's Golf Head Coach. They become the 19th and 20th All-ACC selections since DiBitetto became head coach in 2017.
Carolina tied for ninth in the 2026 NCAA Championships. This is the fifth time in the last six seasons multiple Tar Heels earned All-ACC honors.
Bertagnole is the fourth Tar Heel to win ACC Freshman of the Year, joining Kevin O'Connell in 2008, Peter Fountain in 2021 and David Ford in 2022.
