Pietramala, Marcus Tabbed ACC Players Of The Week
April 7, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina men's lacrosse attackman Dominic Pietramala and goalkeeper Josh Marcus have been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement comes following the Tar Heels' 14-9 victory over No. 3 Syracuse on Saturday, propelling Carolina to the top-ranked team in the USILA Coaches Poll.
Pietramala, a redshirt-junior, posted five goals, four ground balls and a caused turnover in the victory. Pietramala's effort was his eighth career game with five-or-more goals, and his fourth in 2026.
Pietramala now sits at 113 career goals, tied for seventh in program history alongside Jed Prossner (2002-05). The Lutherville, Pa. product has averaged 2.83 goals per game in his career, fourth-best among active Division I players.
In his first career ACC start, Marcus recorded a career-high 15 saves, as well as three ground balls for Carolina. Marcus is the first Tar Heel with 15-or-more saves since Collin Krieg versus Duke in the 2024 season finale.
The Westport, Conn. native is part of the Carolina defense that is 8-0 this spring and 22-0 over the last three seasons when allowing nine-or-fewer goals.
Up next, Carolina travels to No. 2 Notre Dame on Saturday at 5 PM on ACC Network. This weekend's game versus the Fighting Irish is the eighth time in program history Carolina has taken part in a No. 1 versus No. 2 matchup.
