April 21, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina men's lacrosse attackman Owen Duffy has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Last weekend in the Tar Heels' 16-15 overtime victory at No. 11 Virginia, Duffy posted three goals and five first-half assists. The weekly honor is the second of his career.
The junior's five assists matched his career best, as his eight points in the game also tied his career high. The East Quogue, N.Y. product has posted a point in all 40 career games as a Tar Heel, including six games with five-or-more points this spring.
In 2026, Duffy leads Carolina in assists (32) and points (58), ranking second in goals (26). In all three seasons at UNC, Duffy has recorded 50-or-more points, and is one of three ACC players with multiple 50-plus point seasons.
Additionally, Owen was one of three Tar Heels named to the Tewaaraton Award Top-25 Nominees list.
Up next, Carolina closes the regular season on Saturday, hosting No. 17 Duke on Senior Day. Opening faceoff between the Tar Heels and Blue Devils gets underway at Noon, televised on ESPNU.
