Roscich's First Top 10 Leads UNC In Hayt Collegiate

University of North Carolina sophomore Grant Roscich's first career top-10 led the Tar Heels to a fifth-place finish Monday after the third and final round of the John Hayt Collegiate Invitational at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The 17th-ranked Tar Heels shot 9-under-par 279 today, the fourth-lowest round of the day, to climb three spots to fifth. Carolina shot 6-under 282 and 1-under 287 over the first 36 holes and finished 16-under 848.
Second-ranked Auburn was 13 under today to win the team title at 28-under 836. No. 11 Texas Tech was second at 26 under, No. 21 Charlotte was third at 24 under, No. 6 LSU was fourth at 23 under, the Tar Heels placed fifth and top-ranked Virginia was sixth, three strokes behind UNC.
Other ACC teams in the field included Clemson (eighth at 11 under), Duke (12th at even par) and Louisville (13th at 2 over).
Roscich shot all three rounds below par (68-71-70) to tie for ninth at 7-under 209. The 209 is his lowest 54-hole total as a Tar Heel.
Niall Sheils Donegan also shot below par in each round, carding 71-71-70 to tie for 20th at 4-under 212. Andrew Riley shot 4-under 68 today to also tie for 20th.
Keaton Vo and Misha Golod also shot 1-under 71s in the final round.
Auburn's Jackson Koivun, the second-ranked collegiate player in the country, won the individual title at 11-under 205, beating Duke's William Love and Charlotte's Seb Cave by one stroke.
The Tar Heels return to competition March 23-24 in the Valspar Collegiate in Palm City, Fla.
