No. 24 Rowing Wraps ACC Championship In Sixth Place
May 17, 2025 | Women's Rowing
CLEMSON, S.C. – Wrapping up action at the 2025 ACC Championship from Lake Hartwell, No. 24 North Carolina rowing medaled one boat en route to a sixth-place finish as a team.
"Really excited about the way the weekend ended," said head coach Erin Neppel. "To finish in the top half of this incredible conference is something that we have to be proud of this year. Especially proud of our three crews that raced in the grands and our 2V4 who medaled for the first time in 25 years. There were a few seniors in there that saw some full circle moments which is exciting for them. For all of our seniors we just want to say thank you and we're excited to build off of this next year."
The lone medalists of the day, the 2V4 boat came in hot down the stretch to secure a third-place victory at 7:07.248 in the grand final. In
Carolina's two other grand finals, the 3V8 came in sixth with a time of 6:38.199 and the V4 placed fourth overall at 7:03.690.
In the petite finals, the V8 boat claimed first overall with a time of 6:19.438, with the 2V8 earning a fourth-place finish at 6:32.827.
Following the action in the water, junior Carmen Sagues was named Second Team All-ACC by the coaches after her performance in the V8. Teammate and sophomore Sydney Hebert was recognized with Third Team All-ACC honors for her work in the V8.
