April 16, 2025 | Women's Gymnastics
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Kaya Forbes competes for an individual national championship in vault in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday, April 17.
Forbes will compete in session two at 9:00 p.m. EST in the Dickies Arena while competiting with Michigan State in the first rotation. The meet will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
Forbes is the first Tar Heel to earn a bid since 2018 when Morgan Lane (All-Around) represented Carolina. Forbes has flourished in the postseason, specifically on vault. During the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, she notched a career-high (9.925) on vault, which moved her into third all-time in Carolina history.
Forbes followed up that performance with a 9.875 as the anchor, which was the highest score of the vault rotation for the Tar Heels during the Tuscaloosa regional. She has scored above 9.800 on vault ten times this season. Forbes competed in her 85th career routine at the beginning of April.
