CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 13 University of North Carolina gymnastics earned its first ACC win as it hosted Pitt Friday evening in Carmichael Arena. The Tar Heels swept all four events.

Freshman Sydney Seabrooks placed first all-around with a score of 39.275. She set career bests on vault (9.825), bars (9.725), and beam (9.875).

JoJo Valahovic topped the first rotation with a 9.900 on vault for the second straight week. Kaya Forbes (9.875) and Paige Prejean (9.850) rounded out the top three on the event.

Senior Claire Stippich made her career debut on beam, earning a 9.800.

Jessica Naranjo (9.875) and Hannah Aoki (9.825) had strong showings on floor, both tying their career highs.

Rotation One – Vault (49.275)

Event winner Valahovic (9.900) and second-runner-up Prejean (9.850) both tied their season bests. Elly King set a new season high and tied her career best with a 9.825.

Rotation Two – Bars (48.950)

Gwen Fink won the event with a 9.850. Event runner-up Prejean (9.825) and Stippich (9.800) both set new season bests. Seabrooks made her collegiate debut on bars, earning a 9.725.

Rotation Three – Beam (49.075)

Seabrooks was in the lead-off position, earning a score of 9.875 to secure a first-place finish in the event and a new career best. Naranjo also tied her season high.

Rotation Four – Floor (49.225)

The Tar Heels finished the meet strong on floor with Naranjo securing first place and tying her collegiate high of 9.875. Aoki followed closely, earning a score of 9.825 to tie her collegiate high.

The Tar Heels will return to Carmichael Arena on Friday, Feb. 13, where they will face off against in-state rival NC State. Action begins at 6:45 p.m.
