Softball Drops Series Opener Against Louisville, 7-4

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – UNC Softball dropped the series opener against Louisville 7-4 on Friday night at Anderson Softball Stadium.
This marks the first loss all season where the Tar Heels out-hit their opponent.
Sanaa Thompson got the scoring started with a moonshot homer to left field to put the Tar Heels up 2-0.
In the fourth, Louisville hit a three-run home run to take the lead. Carolina responded immediately with two in the bottom half with an Alex Coleman single and a Kat Rodriguez sac-fly to take a 4-3 lead.
Another three-run home run gave Louisville a 6-4 lead and they added another with a double in the sixth.
The Tar Heels had base runners all night but were unable to bring them home, the racked up 13 hits and had two walks but left 11 runners on base.
They'll look to even the series tomorrow at 2 p.m. from Anderson Softball Stadium.
