David Ford 2nd, Tar Heels 4th At The Hayt

Keaton Vo shot the Tar Heels' low round of the day with a 2-under 70, David Ford finished the 54-hole tournament in second place at 7 under and North Carolina moved up one spot to fourth Monday at the conclusion of The Hayt, played at Sawgrass Country Club's East/West Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
Ford shot a final round 75 to fall to second behind Texas' Luke Potter, who won the individual title and led the Longhorns to the team championship. Ford shot 69-65-75 to finish 7-under 209, while Potter was medalist with rounds of 71-66-69 for 10-under 206.
Texas shot 290-274-282 for 18-under 846, seven shots ahead of Duke. Alabama was third at 6 under par, the Tar Heels were fourth at 1 under and Virginia placed fifth at even par.
Ford's second-place finish was his 14th top-five in four seasons and the fifth time in seven tournaments this season he placed in the top 10. It was the sixth time in his career he was runner-up in addition to winning four times.
Vo (74-70-70) shot 2 under par for the second straight round and led Carolina over the final 18 holes with six birdies. He closed at 2-under 214 to tie for 11th, his best finish as a Tar Heel.
Maxwell Ford (74-72-73) tied for 33rd at 3-over 219, Hampton Roberts (70-76-74) tied for 37th at 4-over 220, Ethan Paschal (73-72-76) tied for 43rd at 5-over 221 and Sihan Sandhu (79-72-78) tied for 68th at 13-over 229.
