The Lead: After cementing its spot in Seattle last week with wins over Oregon and Kentucky, the North Carolina women's tennis team will begin its pursuit for their fifth straight ITA Indoor Championship.
The field is made up of 16 teams: North Carolina, Stanford, Oklahoma State, Michigan, Pepperdine, Texas, Georgia, NC State, Washington, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Virginia, California, Auburn, Florida and USC.
Play begins on Friday with the winners of each match advancing to the next round with the championship match scheduled for Monday.
Storylines:
- Carolina will be playing for its fifth straight ITA Indoor Championship.
- Three UNC doubles teams enter the weekend ranked by the ITA.
- Eight UNC singles players enter the weekend ranked by the ITA.
- Four opponents in the ITA Indoor Championship bracket were an opponent in last year's national championship run for the Tar Heels. (Florida, Texas, Georgia and NC State).
