Men's Soccer Defeats No. 11 Duke Sunday Afternoon

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Andrew Czech and Quenzi Huerman each scored a goal as the North Carolina men's soccer team (4-0-3, 1-0-2) defeated No. 11 Duke (4-2-1, 1-2-0) in Atlantic Coast Conference play Sunday at Dorrance Field.
How It Happened
• Duke's Forster Ajago deflected a Tar Heel pass, collected possession, and slipped a shot from just outside the box past the Carolina keeper, as the Blue Devils took an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute.
• Just a few moments later in the 16th, Andrew Czech sailed a shot just past the Blue Devil reach in the top right corner, to tie the match at 1-all.
• In the 32nd minute, Quenzi Huerman collected a Duke turnover at the top of the box and found the back of the net to give Carolina its first lead of the contest.
• Carolina was able to secure the victory, as goalkeeper Andrew Cordes made three saves in the final moments of the matchup, to give the Tar Heels a 2-1 victory over the Blue Devils.

• Carolina builds on its series lead, 51-37-11, including a 25-15-6 mark in Chapel Hill.
• Czech's goal in the 16th minute was the first of his collegiate career.
• The two programs combined for 15 yellow cards throughout the matchup.
