Football Hosts Campbell In First-Ever Matchup

The Lead: After two straight one-possession losses, North Carolina will look to bounce back against the Campbell Fighting Camels in its first of two straight home matchups to begin the month of November. The game between the Tar Heels and Fighting Camels will be the first-ever meeting between the two in-state foes.
Storylines:
- The Tar Heels have scored 40 or more points in five games this season.
- Omarion Hampton rushed for 153 yards on 29 carries and scored two touchdowns, bringing his total rushing touchdowns for the year to 10. He is the first Tar Heel to have 10 rushing touchdowns in a season since Ty Chandler in 2021.
- Maye now has 1,019 career rushing yards. He is only the fourth Tar Heel quarterback since 1980 to have over 1,000 rushing yards. The other three are Ronald Curry, Marquise Williams and Sam Howell.
- Cedric Gray is four tackles away from tying Cole Holcomb (2015-18) for the 10th-most tackles in school history (328).
- Carolina has recorded an interception in seven of its eight games this season. Last week, Don Chapman recorded an interception to continue the trend.

- UNC is averaging 319.9 passing yards per game. North Carolina ranks 9th in the FBS in passing yards.
- North Carolina ranks 3rd in the FBS in total offense with an average of 509.4 yards per game.
Switching Sides:
- QB Hajj-Malik Williams and WR VJ Wilkins rank among the nation's highest graded position players, according to PFF. Williams ranks 6th among FCS quarterbacks, while Wilkins stands as the top-graded FCS wide receiver and third overall in college football.
- Hajj-Malik Williams owns the FCS' second best completion percentage at 74.3 percent, averaging 262.2 passing yards per game with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. The redshirt senior QB has also rushed for four scores.
- Campbell comes into this week's matchup with the 16th-ranked scoring offense in FCS, averaging 34.2 points per game, also ranking ninth in red zone offense nationally (.919).
