Track Wraps Up First Weekend Of Competition

BLACKSBURG, Va. – North Carolina wrapped up the opening event of its 2021 indoor track & field season Saturday with a second day of competition at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Competing at the Hokies' Rector Field House, the Tar Heels gained valuable experience in several events.
After three event wins on Friday, UNC's best showing on Saturday was a second-place finish in the long jump by Anna Keefer. The senior from St. Michael Albertville, Minn., registered a jump of 5.96m (19-6 ¾).
The long jump was also a highlight on the men's side, with Tar Heel sophomore Matthew Harris in third with a jump of 7.04m (23-1 ¼).
The Tar Heels are back in action – and back in Blacksburg – next Friday and Saturday for the Hokie Invitational. For the full 2021 schedule, click here.
