Tarragano Qualifies For NCAA Championships In Men’s 10,000m

LEXINGTON, KY- Tomer Tarragano (28:53.36) closed out the first day of the NCAA East Preliminary Round by qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Championships in the men's 10,000m. Fresh off earning a bronze medal at the Atlantic Coast Conference, Tarragano ran a personal best time, moving up to fifth all-time at Carolina and finishing 12th. Tarragano is the third Tar Heel ever to qualify in the 10k. Alex Phillip qualified in 2024, and Steve Sparrow qualified in 1983.
In his final race as a Tar Heel, Trevor Paschall (46.15) had a great showing in the men's 400m. Paschall came into day one of the NCAA East Preliminary Round as the 40th-ranked men's 400m runner and finished 30th.
