Six Tar Heels Advance To Finals On Day Two Of ACCs

LOUISVILLE, KY - Carolina track and field had a good day two of the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships.Â
In the first running event of the afternoon, Tori Goodson and Kalani Witherspoon both earned spots in the women's 100m hurdles finals. Goodson advanced based on her time, and Witherspoon advanced because she finished third in her heat.
Trevor Paschall (45.99) and Delea Martins both had phenomenal days in the 400m. Paschall punched his ticket to the 400m finals by shattering his personal best as he finished second in his heat. He moved into seventh all-time as he ran sub-46 for the first time. Martins finished second in her heat, earning a spot in the women's 400m finals.
Ella Auderset and Makayla Paige both secured their place in the women's 800m finals. Auderset advanced on her time, and Paige finished second in her heat to qualify.
Sydney Masciarelli (9:55.21) received Second Team All-ACC honors on the day, finishing fifth in the women's 3,000m steeplechase. The ACC Championship in the women's steeplechase was one of the best in the country. The field was composed of four of the top 10 times in the country, including the NCAA leader.Â
Kyle Archie (2.09m) finished fourth in the men's high jump, earning Second Team All-ACC honors.Â
