Heels Top Seton Hall 9-3 At Boshamer

Dan Moylan's hot bat led the North Carolina Tar Heels to a 9-3 victory over the Seton Hall Pirates Saturday afternoon at sunny Boshamer Stadium. The 5-0 Heels are off to their best start since going 6-0 to begin the 1979 season.
Moylan had a three-homer to left in the second inning to go along with doubles in the first and seventh innings and an eighth inning single. Moylan also scored four runs while raising his batting average to a sizzling .529.
Corey Richardson (2-0) picked up the win with 3.2 innings of scoreless relief work after coming in for starter Ryan Snare in the fifth inning. Snare gave up three runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings.
.J. Benik (0-1) suffered the loss for Seton Hall. Benik lasted just two innings, giving up four runs on six hits.
Carolina led 4-0 after two innings before Seton Hall broke through with three runs in the top of the third. John Bravette's two-run homer was the big hit for the Pirates.
UNC came back with single runs in the 6th and 7th innings before putting the game away on Clay Hooper's three-run homer to left-center in the bottom of the eighth.
The Tar Heels wrap up their three-game series with Seton Hall Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Lefty Mike Bynum (1-0) will be on the mound for the Tar Heels.
