Navy Takes An 8-3 Win In Game 1 Of The Fall World Series

Chapel Hill, NC--Â Â Cooper Nicholson belted a three-run homer in the top of the first inning to give Navy an early lead that they never relinquished on the way to an 8-3 victory in Game I of the Fall World Series on Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Offensive Highlights:Â Cooper Nicholson was 2-4 with four RBI and one run scored. Nicholson had a double to go with his early three-run homer. Kole Fenton, who had a double, was 3-4 with one run scored.
Will Myhand was 2-2 with two walks as he reached base in all four at bats. Davis Baker doubled on his way to a 2-4 day at the plate. Harrison Ailshie was the only other player with multiple base hits as he was 2-4.
Pitching Highlights:Â Major Olsbolt, Cameron Tarkenton, Preston Crowl, Scott Doran, Tim Tyler, Ryan Smith and Nick Rumbley all threw on Tuesday.
Osbolt, who started for Navy, gave up one run in 3.1 innings. Tim Tyler threw two scoreless, hitless innings.Â
The two teams will play Game II on Friday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
