Heels Begin Second Week Of Fall Scrimmages

Chapel Hill, NC--Â The North Carolina Tar Heels began their second week of Fall scrimmages with a 9 1/2 inning scrimmage on Tuesday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
Offensive Highlights:Â Â Cooper Nicholson, who hit a 371-foot home run to right center, went 2-5 with two RBI and one run scored. Erik Paulsen was 2-5 with a double. Kole Fenton was the only other player with multiple base hits as he was 2-4 with one run scored.
Devin Russell was 1-4 with four RBI. Russell blasted a 402-foot homer down the left-field line. Sawyer Black's triple was the other extra-base hit.
Pitching Highlights:Â A whopping 15 pitchers saw action. Walker McDuffie, Caden Glauber, Jackson Rose, Folger Boaz, Joey Ruller, Ryan Smith, Cameron Tarkenton, Nick Rumbley, Rhett Britt, Boston Flannery, Sean Hurley, Tim Tyler, Tim Lawson, Camron Seagraves and Amos Rich.
McDuffie retired all six batters he faced, striking out one. Ruller threw a 1-2-3 inning. Hurley, Lawson, Smith, Rumbley, Tyler, Seagraves and Rich each hurled a scoreless inning.
The Tar Heels will play host to Charlotte on Friday at 5:00 PM and Saturday at 1:00 PM. Admission is free and open to the public.
