CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- No. 7 Carolina women's soccer capped off non-conference play with a 5-0 win over Alcorn State Sunday afternoon. Bella Devey and Deus Stanislaus each recorded a brace, lifting the Tar Heels to their sixth victory at home this season and ninth overall.

How it Happened

Carolina got on the scoresheet in the 15th minute with a header from standout freshman Deus Stanislaus. The goal was assisted by Wylie Roossien, the first of her career.

Bella Devey scored her ninth goal of the season just two minutes later, extending the lead to 2-0. Amari Manning dribbled into the box on the left side before dishing the ball to Devey square in front of the goal. The forward buried the shot while Manning was credited with the assist.

With a crafty move around her defender, Stanislaus scored her second goal of the day in the 26th minute. The freshman became one of five Tar Heels this season to have recorded a brace. Manning tacked on her second assist of the day and fourth of the season in the play.

Aven Alvarez, Hope Munson, and Sealey Strawn made their return to Dorrance Field in the 26th minute after being called up to the U-20 WNT for the 2026 U-20 FIFA Women's World Cup in Poland. Their last appearance on the pitch for Carolina came against Michigan State on Aug. 23.

Carolina went into the break leading 3-0. Through the first half, the Tar Heels took seven shots with five on goal.

In the 58th minute, Devey added a fourth goal for UNC off a cross from Riley Kennedy and flick by Bella Gaetino. The sophomore now has ten goals on the season, doubling her total from the 2025 season. Gaetino also earned her first assist of the season.

Junior Logan Tongberg scored her second goal of the season in the 89th minute to top off the 5-0 victory for Carolina. Ella Martinez set up the goal for her first career assist.
