Brantmeier Named 2026 Hurd Award Champion

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – UTR Sports unveiled the 2026 Universal Tennis Foundation Hurd Award champions at the BNP Paribas Open Friday afternoon. Reese Brantmeier now joins Fiona Crawley and Jamie Loeb as UNC women's tennis players to receive the award.
The Hurd Awards are $100,000 grants given every year to one male and one female American collegiate Tennis player. The grant is given to help assist in the player's transition to professional tennis.
"This is a life-changing amount of financial support, and this is going to be the thing that makes my dream be able to be a reality," said Brantmeier.
Brantmeier adds the Hurd Award to a long list of accolades she's accumulated during her time at Carolina. The senior has continued to cement her legacy as a Tar Heel through a singles national championship, player of the year award, several all-America nods, ACC championships, and more.
