No. 1 Women’s Lacrosse Wins A Good One At No. 13 Syracuse, 13-9

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Top-ranked North Carolina women's lacrosse won a good one in the Dome, defeating No. 13 Syracuse, 13-9, on Friday afternoon. The two teams battled, exchanging goals most of the day, but a late surge from the Tar Heels gave UNC the edge.
Kate Levy had a career-high five points, including her first career hat trick, and Chloe Humphrey notched her 20th hat trick in 24 career games.

- Kate Levy got the Heels on the board with her first of the season.
- Syracuse scored the next two to make it 2-1 Orange.
- Caroline Godine rifled a free position home for her third of the season to make it 3-2 at 11:18 in the second.
- Kiley Mottice buried one off a feed from Chloe Humphrey to even things up at 3-3.
- Chloe Humphrey bagged her fourth of the season at 7:49 in the half from Godine to even things up at 4.
- The teams trade goals as Eliza Osburn notched her second of the season at 4:35 in the second to make it 5-5.
- Syracuse added a late goal to take a 6-5 lead at the half.
- Humphrey scored on the first possession of the second half to even things up.
- Godine made it two in a row with a nice finish curling from behind the back of the net to make it 7-6.
- Darcy Felter with a whirling finish off a feed form Addison Pattillo and the Heels led 8-7.
- The teams continue to exchange goals. Syracuse leveled at 8 but Kate Levy's second of the game restored the Heels lead, 9-8 with 13:02 to go.
- Humphrey scored her third from Levy with 9:27 left to push the Heels lead to two, 10-8.
- Felter netted her second of the day, again from Levy, to make it three in a row. 11-8 Heels.
- The Orange got one back but Mottice answered with her second off a feed from Godine. 12-9 Heels at 6:44 left in the 4th.
- Levy secured her hat trick off a beautiful feed form Humphrey to extend the lead to 13-9 with 3:37 remaining.

- The Heels outshot Syracuse, 18-8, in the first half.
- The Heels finished with 41 shots and 21 shots on goal.
- Syracuse's goalie finished the game with 14 saves.
