January 17, 2026 | Track & Field
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - North Carolina track and field dominated the final day of the Dick Taylor Challenge by winning nine events on Saturday. If Carolina did not win the event, then it had at least one athlete take second or third on Saturday, Jan 17.
Carolina had a fantastic showing in the men's mile as they swept from first all the way to twelfth as six Tar Heel runners made their track debuts. The women also dominated, taking the first six spots, as Reese Dalton (4:40) ran the 12th-fastest time in the NCAA and Brynn Brown (4:42.83) ran the 21st.
The sweep continued with the women's 60m hurdles as the podium was all Carolina blue, highlighted by Tori Goodson's first college win in her debut.
Delea Martins (39.31) posted her first win of the day in the women's 300m and followed it up by anchoring the winning 4x400m relay team as Carolina took first and second.
The freshmen continued to have a great day as Alli DeLisi (2:51.14) in the 1,000m and Annie Kerr (4.04m) in the pole vault made the most of their debuts, winning their respective events
