Southerland's Career-Low 66 Leads UNC In Mason Rudolph Championship

North Carolina's Reagan Southerland shot a career-low round of 5-under 66 and Ing Iadpluem carded a 1-under 70 Friday on day one of the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt's Legends South Course in Franklin, Tenn.
Southerland, a junior from Atlanta, beat her previous low college round by two strokes. She made four birdies and no bogeys for a front-nine 31, then shot 35 on the homeward nine.
The Tar Heels were one of three teams in field of 16 to shoot below par. Mississippi State shot 16-under 268, the host Commodores shot 9 under and the Tar Heels posted a 3-under 281.
Arizona State is fourth at 1 over and Baylor and Indiana are tied for fifth at 3 over.
Southerland is tied for the lead with Mississippi State's Ines Belchior and Moa Stridh. Iadpluem is tied for 12th.
Freshman Grace Ridenour, playing as an individual, made her UNC debut with an even-par 71 and is tied for 21st. Helen Yeung is tied for 27th at 1-over 72 and seniors Inez Ng and Megan Streicher are tied for 39th at 2 over.
