Career: Two-time honorable mention All-America and three-time All-ACC • First Tar Heel to earn at least honorable mention All-America honors in multiple seasons since 2013 • Fourth Tar Heel to earn All-ACC honors three or more times (with Catherine O’Donnell, Marcy Newton and Ashley Prange) • Carolina’s 18-hole, season and career leader in stroke average • Averaged 72.14 over 120 rounds in 41 tournaments • Compiled the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 17 best single-season scoring averages by a Tar Heel • Broke her own record by averaging 71.32 as a senior • Had 18 top-10 finishes with a collegiate-best T2 as a junior in the Cavalier Regional Preview and runner-up in the Landfall Tradition as a senior • Opening-round 64 as a sophomore at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., is the lowest round in UNC history • Averaged less than a half-stroke above par per round (0.44) • Helped Carolina win seven team titles, which ties Reagan Southerland for the most by a Tar Heel in 30 years • Three-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll • Best competitive round was 63 in the 2022 North West Open at Pecanwood Golf and Country Club in South Africa.
2025-26: Honorable mention All-America (WGCA and Golfweek) • Set the single-season scoring record by a Tar Heel (71.32) and was selected to the All-ACC team for the third consecutive year, the first Tar Heel to accomplish that in 14 years • Combined 3 under par over 31 rounds • Also led Carolina in rounds at or below par (19), rounds in the 60s (eight), birdies (106), eagles (4) and top-10 finishes (six) • Record of 629-147-21 • Finished below par in six of 10 tournaments • Shot 6-under 210 (70-68-72) to finish second and lead UNC to the title in the Landfall Tradition • Tied for fourth at 6-under 210 (71-69-70) as the Tar Heels won the Chevron Collegiate • Final round 69 and totaled 50-under 211 in the ACC Championship • Beat Wake Forest’s Anne-Sterre Den Dunnen 5&3 in the ACC quarterfinals • Set a UNC record with a 65 in the first round of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, the lowest 18-hole score in a regional by a Tar Heel • No. 39 in the final NCAA rankings.
2024-25: Honorable mention All-America (Golfweek) • Earned All-ACC honors for the second season in a row • Scoring average of 72.10 was the second-best in UNC history • Combined 12 over par in 30 rounds (finished under par in five of her first seven starts) • Average score to par was plus 0.40 per round • Six top 10s with a career-best T2 in the Cavalier Regional Preview, where she shot 70-70-69 as UNC won and set the school record for fewest strokes in a tournament • Led the Tar Heels in scoring, score to par, average score to par per round, rounds under par (-13) and rounds in the 60s (seven) • Began the season finishing in the top four in four straight starts and the top seven in the first five • Was T3 at Folds of Honor, T2 in Charlottesville, T3 at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational, fourth at Landfall and T7 at the PDI Intercollegiate in Orlando • Shot 70-69 in the first two rounds to help lead UNC to the team title in the Yale Invitational West • No. 48 in the final NCAA rankings • Academic All-ACC honoree and member of the ACC Honor Roll.
2023-24: Earned All-ACC honors and set Carolina’s single-season scoring record at 71.83 • Shot a combined 1 over par in 29 rounds • Even or below par in 16 rounds • Team-best six rounds in the 60s with an all-time school-record 8-under-par 64 in the first round at the UCF Challenge, which UNC went on to win • Went 3-0 to lead the Tar Heels to the team title in the NC State Match Play Invitational • Tied for 10th in the ACC Championship at 3-under 213 (69-70-74) • Led Wake Forest All-America Rachel Kuehn 1 up through 16 in the ACC semifinal match when the Deacons won the team point (individual match was unfinished) • Was Carolina’s top performer in seven tournaments and top two nine times • Shot 71-74-72 to tie for seventh at 1-over 217 in the NCAA Auburn Regional • Competed for South Africa in the World Amateur Team Championship when the Tar Heels were competing in the St Andrews Links Collegiate.
2022-23: Stroke average of 73.33 was the seventh lowest by a Tar Heel in a season and the lowest ever by a UNC freshman (previous record was 73.67 by Jennifer Zhou in 2018-19) • Was Carolina’s best finisher in four of the last five tournaments, including the ACC Championship and NCAA regional • Led the Tar Heels with 14 rounds under par (six more than any other player) • Low round of 67 in the first round in the Moon Golf Invitational • That was one of four rounds in the 60s • Best finish was ninth in the Liz Murphey Collegiate in Athens, Ga. (1-under 143) • Tied for 12th in the ACC Championship at 2-over 218 and 12th in the NCAA Pullman Regional at a season-best 7-under 209 • Shot 68-71-70 in the NCAA regional, one of two occasions all season when a Tar Heel shot under par in all three rounds • Both her 7 under score to par and 209 total equaled the best ever by a Tar Heel in an NCAA regional with Meaghan Francella in 2004 and Catherine O’Donnell in 2012 • Led UNC to its best round in any NCAA regional and tied the lowest team round in school history • Led UNC with three eagles and six top-25 finishes • Shot 71-70 over the first 36 holes and finished T12 at the Governor’s Club in the Tar Heel Invitational • Went 2-1 at the NC State Match Play.
Amateur/Prep: Second in the 2025 Sea Island Amateur and ninth in both the 2025 Western Amateur and North & South • Advanced to match play in the 2024 U.S. Amateur at Southern Hills • Top achievement is winning the 2021 South African Women’s Stroke Play Amateur • Also won the 2023 72-hole team championship, the 2022 North West Open, the 2019 Boland Ladies Open and the 2019 South African High School Championship • Member of the GolfRSA Elite National Squad • Top ranked in South African in 2022 and top-ranked junior in 2021.
Personal: Born Megan Julia Streicher on Jan. 27, 2003, in Cape Town, South Africa • Daughter of Erica and Barry Streicher • Attended Somerset College High School in South Africa and Brainline Online High School • Also played two seasons of field hockey • Graduated with five academic distinctions and an A average • Enjoys playing tennis and field hockey, baking and water sports • Favorite food are tacos • Favorite vacation spots are Croatia and Cape Infanta, South Africa • Listens to pop, hip-hop and rap music • Favorite non-golf athlete is Leah Williamson (Arsenal) • Favorite course is Augusta National • Favorite golfer is Rory McIlroy • Go-to club under pressure is her driver • Dream pairing includes Nelly Korda, McIlroy and her father.
