Faasse & Thomas Named To Midseason Hermann Trophy Watchlist

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – United Soccer Coaches announced the 2025 Hermann Trophy Midseason Watchlist Tuesday afternoon. The list is comprised of the best 35 NCAA Women's Division I college soccer athletes. Kate Faasse and Olivia Thomas represent University of North Carolina women's soccer on the list.
Faasse has played a key role in the Tar Heels' offense this season. The forward has posted seven goals including three braces. Faasse has also recorded three assists and 17 points this season. The Phoenix, Ariz. native is a familiar face on the Hermann Trophy Watchlist. After winning the 2024 MAC Hermann Trophy, Faasse was also named to the 2025 Preseason Watchlist.
Thomas has been an offensive powerhouse for Carolina this season. The forward leads the team with 11 goals and 27 points this season. Since conference play began, Thomas has recorded four goals while scoring in four of the Tar Heels' five ACC matchups. The Gross Pointe, Mich. native was also tabbed ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 7.
The prestigious Hermann Trophy is presented each year by the Missouri Athletic Club to recognize the National Player of the Year. This is the highest individual honor for women's soccer collegiate athletes and determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
