Gymnastics Unveils 2026 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – University of North Carolina gymnastics released their schedule for the 2026 campaign Thursday morning. In her fifth year at the helm, head coach Danna Durante will lead the Tar Heels through a competitive non-conference slate before taking on ACC opponents.
"Our 2026 schedule is one of the strongest in the country, featuring top-ranked programs from powerhouse conferences. Building on last year's success, we're thrilled to compete against the best and continue our rise on the national stage." Durante continued, "Our home slate at Carmichael Arena is packed with exciting matchups, and we can't wait to perform in front of our incredible fans in Chapel Hill. This schedule will challenge our team each week, helping us develop the resilience, depth, and championship-caliber focus needed to perform at our best when it matters most."
UNC will travel to Gainesville, Fla. to open the season Jan. 9 in a quad meet hosted by Florida. The meet will feature opponents Florida, West Virginia, and Temple.
The Tar Heels will return to Carmichael Arena for the first time in the new season to host ACC opponents Stanford and Pitt on Jan. 18 and 23.
After the pair of home meets, Carolina will continue conference competition on the road at Clemson and NC State.
Just five days later, the Tar Heels and NC State Wolfpack will meet again on Feb. 13. Their second meeting of the season will take place on Carolina's home floor in Carmichael Arena.
Up next, UNC will travel down south to Fort Worth, Texas to compete in the Metroplex Challenge featuring Auburn, Boise State, and NC State.
The Tar Heels will return to league competition with a trip to Cal on Feb. 20.
In their last quad meet of the season, Carolina will compete in the Purple & Gold meet in Baton Rouge, La. March 1. UNC will face SEC opponents Alabama, Auburn, and host LSU.
Following the road swing, UNC will return to Chapel Hill for two separate meets to wrap up the regular season. The Tar Heels will welcome Big Ten competition to Carmichael with a meet against Minnesota on March 6 and a tri meet with Nebraska and Penn State on March 13.
Carolina will begin the postseason at the ACC Championships hosted in Greensboro, N.C. March 21. NCAA competition will begin for teams who qualify April 1-5 at Regional Championships with National Championships to follow on April 16-18.
Carolina will look to build off the strides made in last year's competition season. The Tar Heels finished the 2025 season ranked no. 24 marking the first time since 2006 that the program was ranked in the top 25 to conclude the season. UNC also spent 11-straight weeks in the top 25. The team finished third at ACC Championships and qualified to compete at NCAA Regionals. Kaya Forbes represented the Tar Heels at the NCAA National Championships.
