CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Four second half goals and the second shutout of the season lifted 17th-ranked North Carolina (3-0-1) over East Tennessee State (1-2-1), 6-0.
How It Happened
• Luke Hille and Sam Williams began the Carolina attack in the opening seven minutes, forcing shots on goal.
• Later in the seventh minute, Hille connected from straight away, giving Carolina a 1-0 edge.
• In the 29th minute, the Tar Heels had two scoring opportunities, courtesy of Ahmad Al-Qaq and Juan Caffaro.
• ETSU's lone shot on goal in the first half came in the 39th minute, saved by Andrew Cordes.
• To close the half, Williams' corner attempt fed Charlie Harper, giving the Tar Heels a 2-0 lead entering the break.
• Beginning the second half, Andrew Czech sent a cross into the box, connecting with Hille for his second score of the night.
• Just a few minutes later in the 50th minute, Williams sent a shot from outside the box into the bottom right corner, giving Carolina a 4-0 edge.
• After Bertil Hansen was fouled in the box, Martin Vician's penalty kick hit the back of the net.
• Closing out the matchup, following a Buccaneer foul in the 89th minute, Vician fired a free kick into the left half of the goal.
