MBB Opens Battle 4 Atlantis Vs. UNI Wednesday At Noon

• The Tar Heels hit the road for the first time in the regular season to play November 22-24 in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis. UNC will play six of its next eight games away from the Smith Center.
• 14th-ranked Carolina opens play at noon on Wednesday, November 22 against Northern Iowa (ESPN). Texas Tech and Villanova are the other teams in UNC's side of the eight-team bracket. Wednesday's winners play at 2:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving (ESPN) with the losers from round one playing at noon (ESPN2).
• Dave Nathan and Adam Lucas will have the call for all threes games from Atlantis on the Tar Heel Sports Network.
• UNC is 3-0 with double-digit home victories over Radford, Lehigh and UC Riverside. The Panthers are 1-2 after a 74-65 loss at South Florida on Sunday.
• Carolina defeated UC Riverside, 77-52, on Friday, November 17. Armando Bacot scored 21 points, the third time in as many games he either led outright or shared scoring honors for both teams. Seth Trimble matched his career scoring high with 11, Jalen Washington made his first career three-pointers and scored in double figures for the second time with 11.
• The Tar Heels went on a 17-0 run in the first half and began the second half with a 19-0 run.
• Armando Bacot (22.7 ppg), RJ Davis (14.3 ppg) and Harrison Ingram (12.0 ppg) are averaging in double figures for the Tar Heels, who have opened with three wins for the 10th consecutive season.
• Washington is the leading scorer off the bench with 8.0 points per game. Washington is coming off an 11-point game vs. UC Riverside, his second-highest scoring output as a Tar Heel.

THIRD TIME IN THE BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS
• Carolina is playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis for the third time in 10 seasons. Overall, this is UNC's seventh trip to play in the Bahamas since 2006 (including four pre-season trips to play games against local teams).
• Carolina is 4-2 in the Battle 4 Atlantis. In the 2014-15 season, the Tar Heels dropped the opening game to Butler then knocked off UCLA and Florida by a combined 33 points. In 2019-20, Carolina beat Alabama, 76-67, lost to Michigan and defeated Oregon, 78-74.
• Armando Bacot played in all three games in 2019, averaging 13.7 points and 11.0 rebounds. That included 12 points and 15 rebounds against the Crimson Tide and 23 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks (still a career high) in the win over the Ducks.
