Ranked Road Matches Next Up For #1 Tar Heels

CHAPEL HILL - No. 1 North Carolina continues its march through the Atlantic Coast Conference women's tennis season with a pair of nationally-ranked road matches at Wake Forest and NC State this weekend.Â
The only unbeaten team left in Division I, the Tar Heels enter Friday's matchup with No. 26 Wake with an unblemished 19-0 record and an 8-0 mark against the ACC. UNC hasn't lost a regular season league match since April 2018, a streak of 42 wins in a row.
First serve in Winston-Salem is scheduled for 5 p.m. Those not in attendance can follow the tennis action through live streaming and live stats.
Sunday feature the top-two ranked programs in the nation according to the ITA. No. 2 NC State and No. 1 Carolina will begin at 2 p.m. from the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. In fact, these two have been ranked No. 1 and 2, respectively, in every rankings release since late February. The No. 2 ranking is the best in program history for the Wolfpack, who is 19-1 this season having only lost to Carolina in the semifinals of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship on Feb. 13 in Madison, Wisc.
The Tar Heels would knock off Oklahoma the following day for their third-straight indoor national title.Â

UNC returns home for the final two ACC matches at Chapel Hill Tennis Center next weekend. Clemson comes to town on Friday, while Georgia Tech on Sunday that also doubles as Senior Day. The Tar Heels will honor Cameron Morra and Alle Sanford before the match.
