Volleyball Heads to ECU Sunday

CHAPEL HILL – North Carolina continues its spring season at ECU Sunday at 2 p.m. for its final nonconference match before beginning ACC play on March 5 at Syracuse.

The Tar Heels (7-2) and Pirates (1-4) meet for the first time since 2002. Fans can watch on ecupirates.com.

UNC is coming off a decisive 3-0 win over App State on Feb. 18. Hitting .466 as a team, UNC defeated App State in straight sets while limiting the Mountaineers to a .071 clip.

Carolina earned a 25-15 win in the opening set, which included five blocks, three from Skyy Howard. The Tar Heels took the second set, 25-14, led by four kills from Parker Austin and a trio of blocks by Kaya Merkler. Posting their best hitting percentage of the night, .480, UNC closed out the match decisively, 25-13.
