Cross Country Tar Heels Set To Compete In Three States On Friday

Tar Heel runners will compete in three states on Friday, with the women running in Tallahassee, Fla., and the men in both Madison, Wis., and Kernersville, N.C.

The women will race at the FSU XC Invite/Pre-Nationals, starting at 8:35 a.m. The 12th-ranked Tar Heels are one of 10 teams in the women's Garnet 6K field ranked in the top 30 nationally.

Racing will take place at Apalachee Regional Park, which is set to be the site of the 2021 NCAA Championships. Representing the Tar Heels will be Brynn Brown, Ava Dobson, Carlee Hansen, Kelsey Harrington, Paige Hofstad, Sydney Masciarelli, Sasha Neglia, Taryn Parks, Sarah Trainor and Natalie Tyner.

Next up is the Wittycombe Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in  Madison, Wis.  The No. 18 Tar Heels are part of a stacked field for the Men's Championship 8K that includes 19 teams that are ranked in the top 30 .
