XC Ready For Princeton Meadows Challenge

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Carolina cross country is set to embark on its second road trip of the season, heading to the Garden State to compete at the Princeton Meadows Challenge on Saturday morning. The men's race will begin at 9:30 a.m., while the women will start competition at 10:15 a.m. Both races will be compiled of tough competitors. The men's 8k will feature 15 unique programs including conference foes Duke and No. 9 Syracuse. Other ranked opponents on the men's side are No. 4 Alabama and No. 25 Princeton. The women's program will face off against 16 teams in their 6k race. Programs making that trip featured in the most recent USTFCCCA poll include No. 10 Alabama, No. 13 Penn State and host school No. 25 Princeton. Carolina will return to Princeton for the first time since the 2024 season. The last time that UNC competed at the Princeton Invitational, the women's team placed third while the men came in fourth. The Tar Heels are coming off a successful season-opening race in which both genders saw a win of the Virginia Invitational at Panorama Farm two weeks ago. In addition to the team win, Ciara O'Shea notched the first individual race win for Carolina. Following the victory in Virginia, O'Shea garnered conference and national attention being named both the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week and the ACC Women's Performer of the Week. Alongside O'Shea, newcomer Caden Leonard was named the ACC Freshman of the Week following a top-five finish at the meeting. This Saturday's race results can be found here.
