Carolina Set For Battle Of Unbeatens Friday At KSS

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The unbeaten and top-ranked North Carolina field hockey team will host another unbeaten team, No. 7 Louisville, on Friday in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both squads. Game time at Karen Shelton Stadium is 5 p.m. and there is no charge for admission.
The first 100 UNC students will get free Chick-fil-A sandwiches.
The Tar Heels are 5-0 coming off an 8-0 win Sunday over William & Mary. Six players scored in the win, including a hat trick by senior forward Catherine Hayden.
Louisville is 6-0 and moved up a spot to No. 7 in this week's national coaches' poll. With a 2-1 win at No. 12 Ohio State on Sunday, the Cardinals tied the record for the best start in program history.
The matchup is UNC's fourth of the season against a top-10 team.
The teams last met on Sept. 7, 2018, in Louisville, where UNC bounced back from an early deficit to win 3-1. After the hosts scored in the 10th minute of play, UNC got goals in the 20th minute (Erin Matson), 28th minute (Hayden) and 33rd minute (Ashley Hoffman) to move ahead by halftime.
