Carolina Ranked No. 1, Visits NC State Wednesday

CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina takes over as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation according to the latest Oracle/ITA Division I women's tennis rankings released on Tuesday.
North Carolina (13-1, 1-0 ACC) moved up one spot in the rankings after four wins last week, including road victories at Boston College and Michigan.
The Tar Heels were ranked No. 1 for a program record 11 weeks during the 2018 season, and have been in the top 3 throughout 2019.
Carolina has already piled up victories this season over No. 3 Duke, No. 5 UCLA, No. 6 Vanderbilt, No. 8 Oklahoma State and the 21st ranked Wolverines.
UNC is back in action Wednesday at No. 11 NC State (10-2, 2-0) at 3 p.m. The Wolfpack have won their last four matches, including road victories at ACC rivals Virginia and Boston College last weekend, and are unbeaten in six home duals this season.
Carolina is home this weekend against No. 44 Notre Dame on Friday at 3 p.m. and No. 49 Louisville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
