Carolina Hosts Senior Day Wednesday, Travels to Virginia Tech

CHAPEL HILL –  Looking to extended its five-match winning streak, North Carolina welcomes Wake Forest to Carmichael Arena for Senior Day Wednesday at 2 p.m. before wrapping up the regular season at Virginia Tech Friday.

Fans are encouraged to arrive by 1:45 p.m. for the senior day recognition. Rams Horns will be given away to the first 200 fans Wednesday courtesy of the UNC Alumni Association. Those unable to attend can watch both matches on ACCNX.

Recently for the Tar Heels (15-11, 12-4 ACC)
Out-blocking 12 of 16 conference opponents, the Tar Heels rank second in the ACC in total blocks and blocks per set. Aristea Tontai leads UNC with 1.31 B/S while Skyy Howard has 108 blocks.

Behind a balanced Carolina offense with four attackers posting eight or more kills, the Tar Heels swept Duke on Thursday night in front of a season-high 2,623 fans in Carmichael Arena to pick up a second win over the Blue Devils this season, marking UNC's sixth sweep of the season.
Lauren Harrison led Carolina's offense with 12 kills while Parker Austin tallied nine and both Carly Peck and Skyy Howard swatted eight apiece. Aristea Tontai highlighted the Tar Heels' presence at the net with seven blocks of the 11.0 team blocks. Mia Fradenburg grounded Carolina's defense with several diving saves, totaling 14 digs and an ace on the night.
