CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 22 Carolina volleyball (15-4, 10-1 ACC) earned a 3-0 sweep (25-11, 25-11, 25-20) over Syracuse in a match where 14 Tar Heels got to play. Jackie Taylor continued her torrid stretch with seven kills and eight blocks in just two sets played.

She now has 119 blocks on the season and an insane 1.72 blocks per set. 1.72 blocks per set leads the ACC and is second in the country.

The Tar Heels started fast and never looked back. The first six swings the Tar Heels took were all kills. The score was 9-8 when UNC used an 11-1 run to take a commanding 20-9 lead. Carolina rattled off five of the next seven to take the set 25-11.

The second set was much of the same for the Tar Heels. They jumped out to an 8-2 lead then held a 15-5 lead at the media break. UNC pushed to a 21-7 advantage then traded points to take the second set 25-11.

The depth of UNC showed in the third set with most of the regular starters getting to rest. Mackenzie Boyer had four kills in the third to bring her total to a career-high five kills on the night. Lindley Miller also had four kills in the frame to finish with a career-high five.

Addison West, Safi Hampton, and Taylor all finished with a match-high seven kills.

The team hit .385 and held Syracuse to .056 which is the third lowest hitting percentage against in ACC play.
