Fink Qualifies For National Championship As An Individual

CHAPEL HILL, N.C – Gwen Fink will represent UNC gymnastics at the 2026 Gymnastics National Championships April 16-18 in Fort Worth, Texas. This marks the second-straight season the Tar Heels will have a gymnast compete at the national championships.
Fink recorded a career-high 9.900 on vault during the second round of the Baton Rouge Regional last week. Her score solidified her spot as the individual qualifier on the event from the regional site. The senior's score also leaves her tied for the fourth-best vault score in program history.
The Fort Mill, S.C. native appeared in 12 vault lineups this season, recording a 9.875 three times prior to her career high at regionals. She finished the season with an NQS of 9.850 on the event.
At the national championships, Fink will rotate with Arkansas in session II of the semifinal April 16 at 8 p.m.
