Gymnastics Concludes Regular Season Friday Night

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – No. 18 University of North Carolina gymnastics hosted Nebraska and no. 19 Penn State in a tri-meet Friday night to close out the regular season. The Tar Heels finished third with a score of 194.550. Â

All-Around
Sydney Seabrooks was the lone Tar Heel to compete in the all-around Friday night. The freshman appeared in the event for the eighth time this season recording a score of 38.775. Seabrooks placed third in the all-around.

Rotation One – Vault (49.275)
UNC started the night on vault posting a team score of 49.275. Kaya Forbes led the way for the Tar Heels with a 9.900. Her score marks the third consecutive meet the senior has recorded a 9.900 or higher on the event. Gwen Fink and JoJo Valahovic followed closely behind with a 9.875 each.

Rotation Two – Bars (49.225)
On the second event of the night, Paige Prejean stole the show with a new career high of 9.925. The senior led the way for Carolina as they put together a team score of 49.225. Cami Rueda recorded the second-best score for the Tar Heels with a 9.850.

The Tar Heels recorded their lowest score of the night on beam with a 46.725. JoJo Valahovic notched a team-high for the night on the event with a 9.825.

Rotation Four – Floor (49.325)
Carolina bounced back in rotation four putting together their highest team score of the night with a 49.325. Jessica Naranjo competed in the lead-off position where she recorded a 9.875. Sydney Seabrooks notched a team-high 9.925 on floor for the night. The freshman's performance is her ninth 9.900 or higher on the event this season.
