Top-Ranked Deacons Down Men's Tennis, 4-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—Top-ranked Wake Forest won the doubles point and went on to top No. 47 North Carolina, 4-0, on Friday evening at the Chewning Tennis Center.
The Demon Deacons won their 17th match in a row and improved to 24-2 overall and 9-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with the victory. Carolina fell to 11-8, 4-5.
Prior to the match, the team held a moment of silence for former UNC women's tennis head coach Kitty Harrison, who passed away earlier in the day on Friday.

Carolina will play its final regular season home match of the 2025-26 season on Sunday at 1 p.m. against NC State at the Chewning Tennis Center. The team will hold senior day ceremonies for Logan Zapp, Roan Jones and Constantinos Djakouris during the match.

• Wake's DK Suresh Ekambaram and Andrew Delgado, ranked No. 5 nationally as a team, topped No. 20 Roan Jones and Anthony Wright, 6-0, on court one to start doubles play.
• The Demon Deacons clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win on court two by Mees Rottgering and Kacper Szymkowiak over Chris Xu and Niels Ratiu.

• Wake took a 2-0 lead when Joquin Guilleme beat freshman Kase Schinnerer, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 6.
• Shortly thereafter, 47th-ranked Mees Rottgering topped Xu, 6-3, 6-3 to make it 3-0.
• No. 21 Suresh Ekambaram downed No. 54 Jones, 7-6 (3), 6-3 to clinch the win for Wake.
