Men's Tennis Wraps Regular Season Home Slate This Weekend
March 26, 2026 | Men's Tennis
The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will finish its 2025-26 regular season home schedule this weekend with matches against Wake Forest and NC State in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels (11-7, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference), who jumped 22 spots to No. 47 in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, will welcome the top-ranked Demon Deacons to the Chewning Tennis Center at 5 p.m. on Friday. The 19th-ranked Wolfpack will visit Chapel Hill on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Sunday's match will be senior day for Carolina with graduate student Logan Zapp and seniors Constantinos Djakouris and Roan Jones making their final regular season appearances in Chapel Hill as players.
UNC's bounce in this week's rankings came after a pair of home wins over higher-ranked opponents last weekend. The Tar Heels topped No. 38 Clemson, 4-1, last Friday evening and No. 52 Georgia Tech, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Kase Schinnerer earned ACC Freshman-of-the-Week honors on Tuesday after winning the clinching singles matches in both team wins.
Carolina is 9-2 at home in dual matches this season with wins in seven of their last eight at Chewning Tennis Center, including a 4-2 on February 27 over defending ACC champion and 12th-ranked Stanford.
There will be plenty of promotions for attending fans at both matches this weekend:
Friday vs. Wake Forest
• Free pizza for fans after the doubles point
• Giveaways for the first 100 fans
Sunday vs. NC State
• Free burgers from Al's Burger Shack for the first 300 fans
• Free t-shirts for the first 100 fans
