Heels Hold Long Scrimmage On Friday

Chapel Hill, NC--Â Â The North Carolina Tar Heels held a 10 1/2 inning scrimmage on Friday afternoon on a raw, chilly day at the Bosh.
Offensive Highlights:Â Â Lee Sowers was 3-5 with one RBI and three runs scored. Jake Schaffner was 2-5, including a double. Carter French was 2-5 with one RBI, while Cooper Nicholson was the only other player with multiple base hits as he was 2-6 with one RBI.Â
Erik Paulsen blasted a towering, 386-foot homer to right center. Colin Hynek had a double.
Pitching Highlights:Â The following nine pitchers threw: Jason DeCaro, Ryan Lynch, Caden Glauber, Folger Boaz, Talan Holiday, Boston Flannery, Camron Seagraves, Walker McDuffie and Matthew Matthijs.
Boaz threw 5.0 scoreless innings while giving up just two hits and striking out four with no walks. Flannery retired all five batters he faced in his 1.2 innings. Holiday threw a scoreless, hitless inning. Matthijs and McDuffie each threw a scoreless inning.
The Tar Heels will not scrimmage on Saturday but will next scrimmage on Sunday.
