Yeung Leads Women's Golf To 36-Hole Lead In Houston

Sophomore Helen Yeung shot 6 under par Monday, one of three Tar Heels in the top eight, to lead the University of North Carolina to a five-stroke advantage over the field after 36 holes in the Chevron Collegiate hosted by the University of Houston at the Golf Club of Houston.
Yeung shot rounds of 70 and 60 and is third in the individual standings at 6-under 138.
The Tar Heels shot 4-under 284 in the morning round and 11-under 277 in the afternoon for a total of 15-under 561.
Baylor is second at 10 under, Oregon and SMU are tied for third at 8 under and Arkansas is fifth at 1 under.
Joining Yeung in the top 10 are Megan Streicher (71-69), who is tied for fifth at 4 under and Marie Prats-Rigual (72-69), who is tied for eighth at 3 under par.
Reagan Southerland (73-71) is even par.
